The GREAT GIRL DRIVE!
Collecting what girls in crisis need,
wherever I go...
Shelters across the country are helping women and girls- those in transit, women dealing with domestic violence, and young homeless teens. All of these shelters have one thing in common.
THEY ARE ALWAYS IN NEED OF PADS AND TAMPONS.
In the summer of 2003, my 3 babies and I went to my local domestic violence shelter. That day in July was both the worst and best day of my life. I give credit to Your Family Resource Connection in Danville Illinois for helping me become the woman and comedian I am today.
Supporting shelters is important to me. And thanks to the huge success of "Goodbye to Charlie's Uterus" donation drive in July of 2017, the YFRC shelter is stocked up for a long while. And after the amazing "Two Girls One Truck" tour with the glorious Maggi Mayfield, the desire to keep giving items has done nothing but grow.
I will collect pads and tampons at every single comedy show I perform on, and deliver them to shelters everywhere.
I'll keep donation baskets in my car, you can hand me new unopened boxes of pads and tampons at any show I'm at, and as soon as the box is full, I'll donate it to a shelter in whatever city I am in. You'll get an amazing sticker for your donation, or you can buy a sticker to help support this project! You also get the satisfaction of knowing you are helping a woman in crisis.
With your help, we can make a difference to the women who need it most.
